Corny, Corny, Corny.
If you are anything like me then I'm willing to bet that you have never been to a Corn Maze before. And if you are still like me, then you were sitting at home bored on a Tuesday night because your boyfriend is in class and your friend calls and asks if you want to go, and you agree. Well if you are like me, or were rather, then I'm here to give you some tips and sound advice for the day that you do finally enter a Corn Maze:
Don't Panic. There are other rules, but that is the major one. And it really helps to not panic when you finally realize that there are no men in there with chainsaws hunting you down, and no aliens traipsing through the corn field. There are crazy women in pumpkin hats, but they're harmless for the most part.
Surprising your friends is all part of the fun. Like jumping toward them while looking slightly Asian, that's not frowned upon--its encouraged. And if you can get your braid out to the side, more power to you.
Find fun spots to hide. It's like your very own corn cave. You could find a place to hide to then jump out at your friends. Or you can start making a shelter when you realize that you're never getting out of there. Also makes for a fabulous photo-op.
Limbo. And I'm not talking about the place you go when you die when you're Catholic. I'm talking about every limbo boy and girl, all around the limbo world... do the limbo rock. The corn stalks are bendy, use this to your advantage.
Sometimes corn flies. And you just have to cope with this fact. Hopefully it won't hit you in the head, and it won't be thrown by anyone (that's against the rules, if you enlarged that first picture to read all the rules [like a true blog stalker] you would know that), its just a freak occurrence that sometimes corn flies in corn mazes. Don't question it.
Lash out in violence. At times you might concur a bridge or a certain part of the maze and you want to celebrate by jumping, remember to keep your distance from those around you. While this picture captured Jared not looking TOO distraught about being hit, I'm thinking he didn't enjoy it as much as I did. So, maybe this one should be DON'T lash out in violence. I'm going to leave it up to you though.
Jump. If you encounter a bridge, jump on it. This make a magical trip-trap kind of a noise to alert the troll that is surely under the bridge, and the absolute last thing you want to do is surprise a troll. Trust me on this one.
Have fun. This is my last point of advice. Grab a sibling and a couple of friends and go have a good time in a corn maze. Even if you get lost (that's kind of the point), there is always a way out. You just walk straight through the corn* and you're bound to get out eventually. And have fun being corny.
